Steadicam shots are beautiful, but ever wonder what sort of manipulation has to occur to get the shot? A great video from Martin Scorsese’s Hugo is now on Youtube, and you get to see both what the camera sees and what the camera operator sees. You’ll catch boom mics, timing calls for action, hidden walls moving out of the cameras way . . . and it is all very cool.
