With The Hobbit near release in all of it’s 48 FPS HFR 3D glory, it seems like an interesting time to look back at why 24 Frames Per Second (FPS) is a good idea. Enter Stu Maschwitz, who recorded an interview in 2010 and explains why he loves the 24 FPS look of film.

Stu Maschwitz a highly regarded director, writer and visual effects artist based in San Francisco.

He has worked as a senior visual effects supervisor on many films. He previously worked at Industrial Light and Magic and also co-founded a company known as The Orphanage.
